Your domain
What is a transfer code and how do I use it?
A password for the new registrar. We show it once; ask for a new one if you lose it.
A transfer code (also called auth code, authorization code, authinfo or EPP code) is the password that lets another registrar take over your domain.
- In your dashboard open the domain and the "Transfer" section. Confirm with your password (and a code if you use two-factor).
- We show the code once. Copy it. We email you that a code was requested; the email does not contain the code.
- At the new registrar start a transfer ("transfer in") of the domain and enter the code exactly as shown. For .si it is the password itself, not a fingerprint.
- Approve the transfer if the new registrar asks, and pay its fee if there is one. It takes from a few hours to about 7 days; until then the domain works as before.
If you lose the code, ask for a new one; the old one stops working. The number of codes per domain per day is limited. Requesting a code turns automatic renewal off. Generic endings (.com, .eu and others) usually cannot be moved in the first 60 days after registration, a transfer or a holder change.
